March Association Meeting Minutes
March 13th, 2025 at 5:30pm
Location: MS TEAMS
Board Members: President – Daniel Kim; Secretary – Chloe Puno; Treasurer – Harmandeep Sandhu; Teacher Liaisons – Joe Zaker & Madalynn Cimperman; Principal – Mrs. Sandra Wiest
5:40 p.m. Meeting was called to order by President Daniel Kim.
Daniel calls the meeting to order and takes count of those in attendance: Daniel Kim, Sandy Wiest, Chloe Puno, Joe Zaker, Annie Choi, Carrie Oakey, Harmandeep, Kath, Kristin G., Lisa, Mona, Sarden, Tracie K., Simran Lalli, Maya H.

Check #196 for Read Across America/Family Night –was not a budgeted item and needs general PTA approval.

Daniel stated that the association can vote and approve it now.

There was a motion to approve check #196 - Seconded and Approved.

Science Night
-
Zaker requested funding of $1000 for the program.

All levels of kids can join, and it is a very hands-on STEM.

Teachers can get more involved instead of PLC.

Read Across America/Family Night

About 350 people came, activities included Bingo, book exchange, and more.

Next year, we would like to spread the word more and have more people get involved.

Book Fair will be April 27- May 7th
Minutes Approval

It was confirmed we had a quorum as Mr. Zaker confirmed he was the last person to meet Quorum for the January 2025 PTA meeting.

School Agenda

Mrs. Wiest - Asked PTA to help fund the student calendar book to help speed up the timeline.

Mrs. Wiest will follow up with Jenn to gather more information about the cost.
6th Grade Promotion

The 6th grade teachers are the main planners, but Kristin can chair the décor committee and support volunteers.

PTA set aside $600 for the budget.

There were some funds left over from the award, so if $600 is not enough, we can request a little more.

Possible school picnic for 6th graders.

Mrs. Wiest will ask Jen for information about the logistics.
Holi
-
Great turnout and fun, but some teachers did not take part.
-
Next year, we need to get more teachers involved.

Kathy recommended that maybe the PTA should have an Amazon account to put requested items on the list.

Some parents are more than welcome to donate.
Spring Fest

Pop-up air bounce is canceled because of school rules and insurance issues
-
Must turn in the request form for rental of the school.

Food Truck- Maybe we can send out a request for anyone from school who may have parents who own a company or anything in the area.

DJ- Cannot make the event, we are looking for a new DJ
-
Simran Lalli- RAPA- Indian Dance- 3 or 4 groups. We will try to perform on the outdoor stage.

We may also get Native Indian and local Taekwondo to do some performance
