Daniel calls the meeting to order
The agenda is presented for the current meeting

Daniel announces to the group and members that he will be adjusting the agenda and adds in discussing Holi and the activities that will be presented to the students in their classroom.

Daniel then opens the floor and asks if anyone else would like to add anything to the agenda.
-
With no one adding anything additional to the agenda Daniel motions to approve the agenda.

Harmandeep 2nds the notion and the agenda passes for the meeting.
Minutes
-
Daniel addresses that the last meeting minutes have been sent out via email and are posted for members to read and review.

Daniel notions for an approval of the minutes.

Melinda brings forward that the minutes cannot be approved from the last meeting because quorum was not reached for the last meeting.
o
Daniel presents that he does not believe that is quite right and says that he will look into that information further.
o
Chloe asks Melinda if she attended the previous meeting. Melinda answers, “No.”
o
Chloe then asks Melinda if she did not attend the last meeting is she sure she knows whether there was quorum, because to her knowledge quorum was reached for the last meeting where she was an attendee.
o
Daniel decides that at this time, we will just not approve of the last minutes and we will move forward with the rest of the agenda.
HSA Committee

This is a group of people that look through HSA awards that are given to the teachers at the school. Board Members: President – Daniel Kim; Secretary – Chloe Puno Treasurer – Harmandeep
Sandhu; Teacher Liaisons – Joe Zaker, Madalynn Cimperman; Principal – Mrs. Sandra Wiest

Daniel presents putting together a committee in order to get some awards out to our teachers.
Holi
-
Daniel presents Chloe to discuss what will happen at the school for Holi.

Chloe discusses that Mrs. Sandhu has purchased books for the younger grades and printed activity sheets and coloring pages, along with read-aloud books. The older grades will have the opportunity to tie dye a white cotton item and wear them on Friday the 14th for Holi.
Track and Field Request
-
It has been asked that the PTA assist in purchasing shirts for the track and field group.
-
The teachers will collect the money and give it to the PTA and then the PTA will fulfill the order through the vendor.
PTA elections
-
Elections are coming up for the next year and a committee needs to be formed.
-
You must be a current PTA member and you can nominate yourself or someone else to a PTA position.

The positions and a general overview of the responsibilities have been written out and can be found on the PTA website for anyone interested.

Anyone interested in being on the committee is welcome to email the PTA.
Daniel addresses that the next PTA meeting will be Thursday March 13th
Melinda then says that she would like to discuss something before the end of the meeting.

Daniel asks if it has something to do with an item on the agenda.

Melinda says, “no” and that she would like to discuss something else and add it to the agenda.

Daniel asks if Melinda wouldn’t mind if we adjourn the meeting and discuss these matters further afterward since it wasn’t presented for the current agenda.

Daniel then also responds that he asked at the beginning of the meeting if anyone wanted to add anything onto the agenda and that she hadn’t responded. He elaborates that the agenda was already approved for this meeting and he doesn’t feel that this is the appropriate time to discuss any further issues.

Melinda responds that she feels as though she is not being given the opportunity to speak about issues she wants to discuss and as a current PTA member she should have the right to speak. Melinda then says that if she is not allowed to continue she will

have no c
hoice but to bring this issue to the third district and how members are not allowed to speak during the meetings.

Daniel then says that is not at all his intentions and that he is simply just trying to abide by the approval rules of the meeting. However, Daniel continues that if Melinda would like to say something she is welcome to do so.
Outstanding Balances
-
Melinda presents that she is under the impression that the PTA is past due on insurance coverage and paying for the PTA membership fee.
-
She continues that she feels that other members are having issues with the current PTA and that these past due balances are an issue and need to be addressed because it is putting the PTA in poor standing.

Daniel informs Melinda that our insurance has been paid and so has our PTA membership fees.
-
Daniel expresses he is not sure where she is getting her information from, but that he would appreciate it if next time Melinda addressed him personally with these issues before the meeting in order to make the meetings appropriate and run smoothly.

Daniel then says, with that he would like to adjourn the meeting and if Melinda would like to further discuss anything that he and the board are more than willing to wait until the rest of the members leave the chat and discuss things further.
Daniel adjourns the meeting at 5:43pm
Daniel then says to Melinda once again that he and the board will be waiting for Melinda on the meeting to further discuss these concerns and any other concerns she may have.
Daniel and the rest of the board end the call at 6:18 making sure Melinda did not want to come back to the meeting and continue with the discussion after her having hung up when the meeting was adjourned.
