January Association Meeting Minutes

5:30 p.m. Meeting was called to order by President, Daniel K.

President Daniel K. presents the agenda, and it is approved by Harmandeep.

The last meeting minutes for November 11th were sent out on November 14th.

Read-a-thon

Presented by librarian Kristin Gipetti

A&B tracks February 14th – 28th

C&D tracks March 3rd – 17th

We may count books, pages or do a group school goal.

Set a reading night where Ms. Wiest comes in and reads a book and we have some games.

o

February 28th- March 7th

o

Reading across America is March 7th

Have a spirit week

o

Snuggle with books, hats off to reading, bring in a stuffy, dress like a storybook character.

Prizes

o

Primary and secondary prizes

o

Art party to make slime, top kid got a scavenger hunt in the library and got to bring friends

o

Principal for a day as an individual prize

o

Party prize maybe Kona Ice party for top 4 classes or something.

o

Individual prize-bookmarks, reading 50 books-receives a goodie bag, reading 100-150 books-receives a readathon shirt.

Readathon Goal: To obtain roughly $20,000 to purchase more books and in hopes of purchasing a book vending machine for the library.

Teachers will be allowed to pass out “Kindness Coins” that they can then use to get a book from the book vending machine.

o

In order to move forward with this, Ms. Gipetti is asking for a loan from the PTA that she will later pay back once the readathon is through.

New Business

Reimbursement Forms

o

It has been brought to the PTA’s attention that reimbursement forms have not been filled out in order to obtain reimbursements.

o

These reimbursement forms will now be located in the PTA box, located in the main office .

o

Anyone looking for further reimbursements will be asked to fill out this form and attach any/all receipts in order to obtain further reimbursements.

Valentine’s Grams

o

PTA will have them made and printed out on nice cardstock

o

After purchasing a Valentine’s gram, children can take them home, fill them in and then bring them back to the school

o

PTA will start off with about 500 prints and print more if needed

o

Valentine’s grams will be sold February 3rd-13th

o

Valentine’s grams will then be distributed to students on the 14th

Springfest

o

PTA would like to begin planning for spring fest.

o

If anyone would like to volunteer to be on the planning committee for spring fest, please email the PTA to let us know.

PTA Elections for 2025/2026 school year

o

PTA would like to have an elections committee by February

o

PTA would like to have a list of applicants by March

o

PTA will vote in April for the new PTA board

o

Anyone who is interested in being on the elections committee please email PTA.

o

Anyone who would like to be considered for the next years board please send your interest in an email to the PTA
